Digital Performance Final Project: TORN

A mesmerizing performance combining dance with digital projections, by Sergio Mora-Diaz, Kat Sullivan, and Caitlin Sikora.

Torn is a piece that explores the relationship between the dancer and technology, seeking to create a performance that complements the dancer instead of overpowering them. The project portrays this idea as conflict between within oneself as two separate but interconnected entities, represented by these two different mediums.

This piece was created using a Microsoft Kinect sensor, a Canon 5D DSLR camera and the DepthKit RGBD Filmmaking Toolkit, an open source toolkit developed by James George, Alexander Porter and Jonathan Minard. Music by Koen Holtkamp.
