Unconventional Drawing

For our first assignment I decided to use a different material as my unconventional method and fire was the first thing that came to my mind.

I did some experiments first and realized that the best way to use fire as a drawing tool was using a candle and drawing upside down, to use the potential of fire going upwards as a tool to explore different expressions. This forced me to draw not only with an unconventional material but also in an unconventional position, which I think added a lot to the result of the drawing.

After getting our official drawing materials from Shantell in class, I drew my maze to share with a classmate. The rule I added to the drawing was to collect all red balls before getting out of the maze. I liked how this exercise and the performance during class helped us to learn how to draw collectively in different ways.
